One of the most entertaining games of the year, for all the wrong reasons.

Monoloth's Xeno series is long-running, and always likes to mix things up. This entry is no different, with giant battle suits, an expansive open world, and a Mrs. Potato Head party member.

Kojima's characters and story continue, this time with an open world setting. With the freedom to play lethal or nonlethal, guns-a-blazin' or stealthy, and anywhere in between, MGSV left us satisfied. Konami not so much.

You can't go wrong with Mario. You especially can't go wrong with Mario levels in the shape of dicks. Don't even get us started about the dick-shaped Kaizo levels.

It's everything SimCity should have been. With traffic.

Lots of fun gimmicks and an improved combat system deliver a fun and refreshing experience. And an infinite capability to improve upon it with mods.

Everyone was amazed to see Nintendo's first forway into the shooter genre. Even more amazing was just how fun it actually was. When a children's game's core fanbase is 18+ year old men, it's a sign of quality.

In a move that surprised everyone, the west actually got Yakuza 5. And the series continues being the badass weeaboo gangster simulator it always has been.

For years we were hyped, and despite a few criticisms, it's impossible to say it didn't deliver.

Monster Hunter continues its 3DS games, releasing yet another entertaining and challenging experience that's fun for the whole group. Hope you like grinding.

A soundtrack three times the size of Hotline Miami's, as well as a clusterfuck of a story. Everything fans of the first game wanted. With giant open levels.

Ori and the Blind Forest surprised us all. A non-AAA game that released with phenomenal graphics, and a touching plot.

It's divegrass with cars. And it's fucking awesome.

It's Dark Souls with extra grimdark. Who doesn't love being an edgy Victorian?

All jokes aside, the game's characters and music were unique and attention catching. There's a reason the game has all the attention it does.

Obsidian actually got to develop an RPG with no publisher interference for once. Amazing what happens when they can do that.
